6 Week Checkup

We are going to the doctor every other week.  So at 6 weeks you were

Height: 20 inches (you grew 1.5 inches in 2 weeks)

Weight: 6lbs 7.5oz (the doctor wants you to gain more weight so we need to mix 3 bottles a day with breast milk and formula.  for 40ml of breast milk to 1/4 teaspoon to formula)

Head: 14 inches

We can't believe our baby girl is already 1 month old.  The time has gone by way to fast.  We love you so much Emma.  You mean the world to us.  At your 1 month checkup.

Weight: 5 lbs 11 oz

Length: 18.5 inches

Head 13.5 inches

The doctor wants you to gain more weight so 2 times a day we have to mix in a special formula with the breast milk.  You know when Mommy and Daddy are talking to you and turn your head to see us.  You try to smile, it will come one of these days.  You have discovered your tongue and play with it all the time.  It is really cute.  You eat every 3.5 hours to 4 hours, except right before bed time.  You eat about 70 ml and then about 1.5 hours later want a snack, and then you eat again right before bed.  You go about 4.5 to 5 hours at night (mommy really likes this).  It took mommy a little bit to get used to this as I would get up to check on you to make sure everything was ok.  No words yet, but you make a lot of sounds so it is almost like you are trying to talk and have a conversation with us.

Grandparents Visit

This was a very busy Grandparents weekend.  On Friday, March 9th, Grandma and Grandpa Stephens came to visit.  Uncle Bart came too.  This was the first time that Grandpa got to hold you.  He was very excited. 

 

Also on Friday, Grandma and Grandpa Dahl came to visit for the weekend.  They were excited to see you again and also hold you as this was also their first time getting to hold Emma.  On Saturday, Grandma worked very hard on Emma's curtains for her room.  They are really cute.  Thanks Grandma.  Daddy and Grandpa cut shelves for the closet in the basement so mommy can organize her scrapbook stuff and start working on Emma's scrapbook.

Special Birthday

Well Daddy's birthday present decided to come early.   Instead of after his birthday she decided to come before.  Happy Birthday Daddy.  We love you so much.  Thanks for being a great husband and daddy.  Enjoy your first birthday being a daddy.
