Great Grandpa 96th Birthday

This past weekend we went down to Janesville to celebrate Great Granpda Naatz's 96th Birthday.  The weather was great.  We gave Great Grandpa a picture of Emma and he loved it.  He kept commenting on the picture of you.

You still just eat breast milk. 

Emma I can't believe that you are already 5 months old.  You love to smile, laugh, giggle, and roll around.  You love to talk.  Everyday on the way home from daycare, you talk all the way home.  I think you are telling me how your day was.  When you laugh, you make everyone laugh and then you laugh more.  When you smile, your whole face smiles.  You are trying to crawl.  Daddy calls it the bull-dowser.  You put your head on the ground , push with your hands and feet.  You move across the floor like this.  We are not sure how you don't get rug-burn on your face, but so far so good.  You have discovered your feet and you try to put them in your mouth.  Still no teeth, but you drool and chew on everything.  The doctor said that your gums are swollen, but they were swollen at your 4 month check-up too.  When I pick you up from daycare, you always smile at me.  This melts my heart every time.  I had to drop you off at daycare for the first time, and I cried as soon as I left you.

Emma we love you so much.  You brighten our day.  We can't imagine our life without you.
 

Family Vacation

We spent the week of the 4th of July up at the cottage.  This was the first family vacation that we took.  We got up early on Saturday June 30th.  We left the house at 3:00 in the morning.  Thanks to Daddy for driving in the middle of the night so Emma and Mommy could sleep.  Mostly Emma slept.  It was hot that week.  Most of the days we got up and went for a walk and then a pontoon boat ride.  Emma you are too small to go into the lake so to cool off we went into the cottage.  Thanks to Jeremy and Jessie for bringing up an air conditioner.   Emma, you got to meet Great Grandma Dahl for the first time.  It was a great vacation.  Emma, I wish I could spend every minute with you.
